Brisbane Foundations of Organising
Two Saturdays, 9am to 3pm, delivered in person over a fortnight. This course covers the core skills of organising: how to have a one-to-one organising conversation, how to map your workplace or community, how to run a structure test, and how to identify and develop new leaders. Day one focuses on conversations, listening and mapping. Day two builds on that with power analysis, issue-based campaigning, running meetings and handling difficult or hostile conversations.

Everything is practical. You will spend most of the two days on role plays, mapping exercises and planning your own next steps, not sitting through slides. The week between the two Saturdays gives you time to test what you have learned on real people and bring the results back to the group.
No experience needed. The course suits new members, workplace delegates, and anyone who wants to move from being frustrated about something to actually organising around it.
Places are limited. Attendance on both Saturdays is required, since day two builds directly on day one.
